It’s always great to see how people around the world decorate their homes. To see different designs, aesthetics and just what people feel comfortable with knowing they’re miles away is a huge gift we’re given these days thanks to the almighty internet. That’s why today we’re traveling to Belgium, to the home of Melanie – the owner of Simple Kids, a shop about children’s clothing (by the way adorable!). Melanie lives in Belgium with her two daughters and her home is simple, stylish, clean and very inviting. We can’t resist taking a peek at it, can we?
Country living
Have you ever thought whether you’d be able to live a country life in a country cottage with a rusted iron bed, washed off cabinets and lots of romantic details like fresh flowers, a fireplace etc.? It sure sounds tempting and I believe I would like such a home for a winter getaway – I’m too urban-oriented to permanently live in such a home. It’s always inspiring to look at this though, very shabby chic meets rustic, right?
What do you say?
Traditional and comfy home
It’s been a long time since I’ve been so in love with a traditional home, but traditional to its core! In fact, I’m not sure I have ever truly loved traditionalism in a home, but I guess we all change, so this could be anticipated. Anyway, the home of a family of four never looked more comfortable, elegant and soothing at the same time. The elegant details give the feel of majestic, but livable without making the home feel like a museum (right up my alley). Oh, did I mention that certain rooms (like daughter’s room and a reading nook) do have a pop of color looking pretty modern. Impressive is how the designer Amy Morris managed to make it all together work perfectly – that’s real talent, guys! Take a look:
Pop of yellow
Do you want to see the chicest apartment/office space? Then you’re in for a treat, because I’m about to share with you one glamorous, sophisticated, a bit classy, all in all chic space that I simply got in love with and I literally gasped when I saw the first photo of it. Turns out the space belongs to Lee Kleinhelter, the founder of Pieces, take a look:
“I don’t buy clothes – I buy houses”
That’s what real estate agent Juliette Hohnen says and let me tell you she’s quite good at it. For instance let’s take a look at her last nest – that space feels so fresh, uncluttered and airy, so I have enough reasons to think the woman knows her business. The only difference is that she made this side of her business so home-y and whimsical which I admire her for. Take a look:
Home tour: Vintage, Scandinavian and colorful
Well, I guess the title said it all – I’m now sharing with you a home located in Sweden, Scandinavian to the core with pops of bright colors and vintage accessories (after all the owner, Leah, is a vintage furniture shop owner – is that a dream job or what?). Aaand Leah’s favorite color is yellow (which dominates throughout the house) – can I move in?
Bright and light
Hello, loves! It’s Friday, can you believe it? This sure was a tough week all around, so I’m glad I’ll get some time to properly breath the upcoming two days. Although I do have some plans, I’ll allow myself to sleep in, be lazy, read a few chapters of the book I started months ago without getting the chance to finish it, watch a movie, drink tea and many more things like that, because you know – life is all about small details that make us happy.
What are you doing this weekend?
Simple living
Hello, sweet creamylifers! So sorry I haven’t posted anything the last couple days, it was one of those weeks, you know? So today, as a treat and a way to make it up to you, I have a post that shows so many things I adore: white done right, simple living, Scandinavian chicness, minimalist style with a wow-factor and more. Without any further ado, here’s a home I’m ready to move in right away!
Madrid loft – European chicness
Happy Monday! For today I have prepared a home tour which shows off European chicness at its best. We all know that European homes are different than American or any other ones due to the influence of the culture, history and people’s personalities. So what you know as traditional American will be so different here in Europe and that’s the charm and advantage of living here – I get to see the European gorgeousness with my own eyes and believe it, this is priceless!
The house of flowers…sort of
I know you’ve all heard about Gatherings, the new (to me, at least) online magazine that is so adorable and laid back. I mean, not that the only thing to see are pretty pictures, not at all – the magazine is filled with recipes, advice on decorating, inspiring interviews and much more, but it’s all put together in a heart-warming way, making you want to escape to a stress-free world, where all the homes look like lovely collections of patterns, fresh flowers and vintage! Speaking of homes, here’s one I definitely see myself in (at least these days).
