Have you ever thought whether you’d be able to live a country life in a country cottage with a rusted iron bed, washed off cabinets and lots of romantic details like fresh flowers, a fireplace etc.? It sure sounds tempting and I believe I would like such a home for a winter getaway – I’m too urban-oriented to permanently live in such a home. It’s always inspiring to look at this though, very shabby chic meets rustic, right?

It’s been a long time since I’ve been so in love with a traditional home, but traditional to its core! In fact, I’m not sure I have ever truly loved traditionalism in a home, but I guess we all change, so this could be anticipated. Anyway, the home of a family of four never looked more comfortable, elegant and soothing at the same time. The elegant details give the feel of majestic, but livable without making the home feel like a museum (right up my alley). Oh, did I mention that certain rooms (like daughter’s room and a reading nook) do have a pop of color looking pretty modern. Impressive is how the designer Amy Morris managed to make it all together work perfectly – that’s real talent, guys! Take a look:
As I mentioned in one my previous posts I’m obsessed with wallpapers lately. The more vintage, the better. Hence my excitement to stumble upon Pip Studio Amsterdam who have a great collection of wallpapers that are colorful, floral, with a slight vintage look (or so I felt when looking at them). Pip Studio is a Dutch company offering more than wallpapers, they have bedding, bathroom goodies, bags, stationery. It all looks delicious and I mean it! And about wallpapers: every single design would perfectly fit into a bedroom, bathroom or cozy office nook, so yes, if you decide to buy it, it will be a huge score – it’ll look good no matter the room you decide to use it in.

Hello, sweets! How have you been and how was your weekend? It’s freezing here and there’s just one thing on my mind these days – staying in (preferably in my warm bed) and hide from the insanely low temperatures and the abundance of snow (seriously, it’s snowing constantly!). But, back to our post – sorry for posting so late, by the way! I’m about to introduce you to Kelly Behun Studio, a talented two-people team of designers with a fresh look at interiors, who aren’t afraid of minimalism nor of colors, of course in different settings. I especially love the bedroom they’re designing – the perfect amount of glamour, modernism and not least homey and cozy feeling.
Green & yellow feels spring-y, fresh and alive, so I was very excited to see these bookcases from IKEA (hello, affordable goodness!). Not only they’re cheery, they’re also quite functional – just like a bookcase should be. Now tell me, are you a fan of IKEA or not? And what do you think about green and yellow colors?
Would you use these two in your home, together? I’m not a big fan of concrete when it comes to living spaces, the coldness of this material makes me shiver when only thinking about it. Of course, the wood warms things up a bit yet I still feel I wouldn’t put concrete floors in my home (plus who needs so much gray color?). I do like how concrete and wood look though – one has to be real bold to have the combo in his home.
It’s time for Friday’s one picture post :), but wait to see what picture! It’s a delightful living room, airy and light, with an insanely gorgeous settee, enormous windows, a calming fireplace, eclectic and stylish – are you intrigued? That room feels like a collection of different eras’ details as it has bits of classic glamour, modern designs and I even spied touches of Scandinavian! Can you believe all that together? You’re definitely intrigued now, right? :)

Wouldn’t it be amazing to go to Abu Dhabi for a relaxing vacation filled with sightseeing? Wouldn’t it be awesome to see The Grand Mosque there (also called Sheikh Zayed Mosque)? I’m daydreaming right now about that and luckily I can also see some pictures shot by Jamie from the beautiful From me to you who happens to be there now. That place is indeed grand and so majestic. So much attention to details, I was left speechless upon seeing those images. Remembering the saying ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ I leave you now to see everything by yourself. My love affair with black and white is a known issue for everyone, so nothing too shocking in this post. I mean not shocking as you could guess I’ll be dying over this post’s chicness. Confession: I have never seen such a fabulous home office designed around black and white. Seriously, it’s to die for – Nina from Stylizimo is my new idol (her home office we’re speaking about). As every black and white space, this home office is simple yet not simplistic, it’s very inspiring and laid back, it’s comfy and serene – could not ask for more, don’t you agree?
Ok, not really, it was a sort of an intro :). I’m so in love with the well-known zebra wallpaper, aren’t you? It’s so very cool, whimsical, but traditional all at the same time. The best it’s that it can fit any room, but truth to be told I’ve seen it mostly in bathrooms and I’m not sure why. I would gladly use it in a living room or even a kid’s room – what do you think?
Kate Spade used it in her bathroom, Miles Redd decorated with it, so I guess it’s worth giving it a try. Would you?
