Another successful title for this post would have been Halloween color inspiration. Tell me something, doesn’t the thought about black and orange lead you to Halloween? It sure does to me! That’s what happened earlier today, when I was checking some Halloween inspired pictures, the idea struck my mind instantly! However, I must admit that the combo itself looks pretty elegant and timeless, orange making it look very rich, while black is giving modern chicness. And I thought that touches of white won’t hurt, making for a crispy, less spooky look :). Yet again, when I see orange paired with black I can’t avoid thinking about Halloween, does it happen to you the same? Here are some pictures inspired by this color combo:
Watercolors by Laura Trevey
I’ve been having my eyes on Laura Trevey‘s watercolors for way too long now and it was just about time to express my love for Laura’s work! Her paintings are too beautiful for words and I had some difficult moments when choosing images for this post as they’re all gorgeous! Laura is also author of the blog Bright, bold and beautiful and you should definitely consider it a daily read, it’s utterly inspiring, with lots of fresh ideas. The best thing about Laura’s paintings is that they’re so colorful and fun – would look stunning in every room, whether it’s a bedroom, nursery or living room! I personally see her paintings in a girl’s room, the “party dress” paintings are perfect for a little fashionista’s place!
Home Tour: Eclectic and charming
I spotted this home in casaviva Serbia, a design mag which is as inspiring as you can imagine! The home belongs to Branko Klanscek, who’s living in Belgrade and whose home was once the atelier of famous Serbian painters: Ljubisa Naumovic, Pedja Milosavljevic and Marko Krsmanovic (I know none of them and I’m embarrassed). He restored everything, keeping that artsy feeling though, so today Branko’s home is an eclectic place, with ethnic touches, traditional warm wood and high-end pieces. However altogether it does feel home-y and livable.
Serbian Made: Keewee by Iva Brkic
Hello everyone and welcome to a Serbian Monday! This week’s featured artist is a cutie aka Iva Brkic aka Keewee, a young lady in love with ceramics and handmade, living in Belgrade and creating the most gorgeous ceramic jewelry, tableware, home ware and much more. How did I find out about Iva? I need to give credit for this to Jelena, artist behind LoveLeyla (you can recall her from this post), whom I met last week and who was wearing a sweet and heart-melting brooch which made me fall in love instantly! Well, the brooch was made by Iva and I couldn’t be more thrilled when Iva agreed to be featured on creamylife and even more when she told me she reads my blog, that was flattering :). You know, makes me very proud of myself to have started Serbian Made category, because I got to meet so many wonderful people through it! The talent I’ve seen in the past couple of months is mind-blowing, so creamylife helped me a lot in knowing better Serbian artists and their aesthetics. Iva is no exception! Her work is amazing!
Lonny mag celebratory issue
Hi everyone! How are you and how was your weekend? Normally I don’t post on Sunday, but today is an exception, first of all because is 10/10/10 (kinda like the combination) and secondly because today is Lonny‘s birthday and the magazine turned 1! Happy birthday to Lonny! Their celebratory issue went live today and it didn’t disappoint this time as well! Plenty of inspiring pictures, gorgeous home tours and some seriously awesome contributors: Cassandra, Katie and Eddie to name a few! I won’t say more, go and check it out by yourself! I just know that my relationship with Lonny mag is profoundly cherished and dear, I always will anxiously wait for a new issue, savoring every single image!
Happy weekend with Adore Home
Well, I guess this is becoming a tradition! (leaving you with pretty images from new online magazines, that is. remember last week’s post). Adore Home magazine hit the virtual stands yesterday, so I couldn’t help but share it here with you (even though some of you may have already seen it). The magazine is a gem and what makes me even happier is that two if my favorite Aussie girls, Dana of Yellowtrace and Louise of Table Tonic (remember her stunning shop?), are featured there showcasing their beautiful homes (Dana’s office only! check her home tour here). So yes, I thought Adore Home would be a perfect way to say good bye for the weekend, so have a fabulous time, friends! Oh and don’t forget to relax! xoxo
Interior designer Mary McDonald
The name Mary McDonald wasn’t new to me, however the portfolio of this fabulous interior designer was a real find this morning! Mary McDonald is a young LA-based designer known in the industry as a person whose style is “old-fashioned elegance with a modern sensibility resulting in a fearless, joyful exuberance”. She was named as one of the Top 100 Designers by House Beautiful and her aesthetic shows a livable harmony of colors, serenity and touch of glamor here and there. Mary’s input to a room she designs is like no other, so each space has its own atmosphere and charm, whether it’s a traditional or contemporary style.
Style board: October ’10
And here we are in the month of October. It’s still unknown for me where did September go (not to mention the whole nine months of 2010!). This new month brings a new fashion board or how I say an outfit which would rock my world in October. And if you’re curious to know, the weather here has been chilly, rainy and cloudy for a month already and as much as I’m hoping for another warm day or two, I need to face it bravely, fall is (more than) officially settled down here! Sigh…

Skinny jeans are a must these days, you know? I wouldn’t change them for anything! And then this sweater smiled right at me, with that pretty oversized flower. On a rainy day, the key to staying dry are waterproof boots (like this black and gray Burberry pair) and a coat, which happens to be quite amazing! Another must is the bag (and not only on rainy days, but always!). I know this outfit may seem boring and dull, so that’s why a good way of cheering things up are a colorful scarf and a flirty umbrella (how cute are those hearts?). As long as I stay warm and dry, I don’t care too much that I have plenty of black and gray on me, which actually can look very stylish, right?
What will you wear in October?
Home Tour: Crystal Gentilello
You know who is Crystal, right? Blogger behind Plush Palate, founder and editor-in-chief of Rue magazine! Her home was featured in the 1st issue of Rue (blogged here), but I couldn’t help myself and just had to post about it on creamylife, because Crystal is close to be my idol and the image of a modern perfection! She’s young, ambitious, knowing what she wants to do and be, her sense of aesthetics is able to amaze others (like me) and what I see in Crystal is a person who I want to be when I grow up, whom I want to learn from about style, art and everything that makes this life beautiful. Crystal’s home is no surprise a serene place, in pastel colors meant to bring joy and the perfect, calming atmosphere for a warm home. Not to mention how stylish that place is! It oozes European charm and I tell you it’s blissful! Here are some pictures, the entire tour can be seen in Rue.

Hi everyone! Time for one more ‘blogger to blogger‘ post and this week please enter my lovely girl Leslie of A blonde ambition blog!
