Fiona Douglas is a textile designer and the owner of Bluebellgray company based in Glasgow, Scotland and her home full of florals and bold colors got me swooning big time! One day I’d love to have a room in my home with walls painted in delicious navy color, with a neutral color palette where I can throw in colorful cushions and bright artwork – these two would make for some statement pieces in a room without much effort, right? Fiona‘s home goes straight to my inspirational folder.
One chair, many ways: Eames
I was introduced today to an online magazine that is pure delight! It’s called Est Magazine and it has SO many gorgeous articles, you’ll be truly overwhelmed with prettiness. They had an article about an Eames chair, the challenge was to recognize a real Eames and a replica (quite difficult task). The article just made me love the chair even more than I did before, so in its honor I put together a post about it and how well it might work in rooms that have different styles, color palettes etc.
Chelsea Fuss – floral and event stylist
I must admit that being a design aficionado is not the only thing that makes me happy in this world. I have been a lover of flowers ever since I know myself and recently I’m very into event styling (I’m just sure I’m a born organizer of weddings and birthday parties hehe). So imagine my excitement when I came across Chelsea Fuss‘s portfolio. For those of you who don’t know Chelsea, she’s a floral and event stylist and you may know her for her uber inspiring blog – frolic! Chelsea’s work is absolutely delightful and I want to share my find with you now.
Cheer up with yellow and stripes
Happy Tuesday, sweets! I apologize for being absent yesterday, things were crazy busy and it looked like the day flew by without me noticing it! Today, since outside is so cloudy and gray, I prepared a perfect post and I mean a post to cheer you up! We all love stripes (proven many times!) and yellow, so here’s an idea of how to cheer up your kitchen or any other room using the two details: with a striped rug and some pretty daffodils you’re sure to transform a room into a sunny place!

Brass is the new black?
TGIF! We made it, let’s get some applause, shall we? For a Friday post I chose a topic that I believe we’ll see a lot this year and this is brass. I’ve heard many predictions for brass and they all conclude that 2011 will be full of it. The reason I can think of is its timelessness and its always stunning look in a room. Brass items that have on them time’s stamp (also known as vintage) never looked better than when seen in a modern home, with eclectic touches. Its subtle glitz always brings a feeling of glamour to a space, so I believe brass would work perfectly in ANY home, no matter the style. Of course, it’s all about your personality, that’s why I ask you – do you love or hate brass?
Spring color blocks
This post will make you happy, guaranteed. I was looking and looking around for the past few weeks and I finally realized that this Spring bold, bright hues will be on the top of everything. Whether we speak about fashion or interior design, expect to see rich orange and delicious teal in every aspect. And I couldn’t be happier, you know? I’m already dreaming about the dresses I’m about to acquire, lipsticks I’m going to apply and bright, joyful moments I’m going to live while surrounded by pretty colors. Sigh, I think I’m too carried away by this bliss.
In the desert {with Rue Magazine}
Would be an understatement if I say that I adore the 4th issue of Rue magazine, it’s brilliant! Go check it yourself if you don’t believe me. While perusing the latest issue yesterday, among billions of posts and images I loved, there was an editorial that I just couldn’t stop looking at – it’s the one from the desert. Let me say that I wowed when I saw the cover (picture from this editorial), it was a piece I’ve never seen in any other online magazine nor printed one and as I heard in twitter land there are many tweeps saying it was a risk to have a cover like that – a ‘risk worth taking’, that is.
Room after a girl’s heart
Well ladies, I have a post just for you! Tell me one thing, how does your dream shoe closet/dressing room look like? Pink walls? Crystal chandelier? Velvet settee? Stripes? Heavy, satin ceiling to floor curtains? Leopard print? I know mine has all this and I can’t get enough of dreaming about it. I mean, could there be anything more beautiful, more glamorous and sophisticated than a royal-like (exactly how we all deserve it) shoe closet+dressing room? Of course let’s not forget that our dream shoe closet must have a ridiculously big number of pretty heels and a ton of clothes, a girl can never have too many of these, right?
Blissful Outdoors
Are we all ready for Spring yet? Good, now time to convince this cold, rainy weather about this. I’m so over it already and the only thing I covet right now is some outdoor time, with sunshine kissing my cheeks, warm breeze touching my bare shoulders…I know, sounds blissful. So while we’re at it, we should do it with glamour and style, right? Here are some ideas of how to transform your patio (or even a place in woods) into a romantic, sweet escape.
