Happy weekend, my loves! It has been a tough week for all of us as we suffered along all the people in Japan who fight for their survival these days. And even though it’s painful we must move on and focus on all the good things that are ahead of us. I thought this post might be helpful as my experience shows that we all love to indulge ourselves in dreaming about pretty places and inspiring interiors. I speak today about country chicness, mixed styles (where wood meets crystal chandeliers) and I truly believe this post will be after your own heart.
For Japan with love
Hello all! I wanted to take the time to say something about the devastating disaster happening in Japan now. Watching news about it is painful, thinking about all the people who have suffered and still suffer after the consequences of the earthquake and tsunami is heart-breaking. That’s why I joined the group of bloggers who in honor of Japan will have a day of silence tomorrow, March 18th. The initiative to organise this came from Lydia from Ever-Ours and the creative minds behind Utterly engaged and I can only thank them, with all my heart! If you have a blog you may join us (here are details) and if you’d like to donate, click here.
Herringbone floors
Herringbone floors have been in my life ever since I remember myself. My parents’ place has them in every room, so perhaps when looking at them my little heart skips a beat, perhaps I feel a nostalgic about my childhood years and the time I was living with them. Oh, memories… And another thing I’m reminded of when seeing chevron flooring is Paris and the French flair I’m a big sucker for. You feel the same, right? I know you do, so here is a collection of herringbone floors for us to indulge in.
Latest Lonny
I know I’m way too late to the party, but how could I skip posting about the latest Lonny mag? I couldn’t, so here I am with a few of my favorite pictures. I must say, I was at the point when I thought Lonny just CAN’T get better and voila, the March/April issue is more gorgeous than any other! If you had time to flip through the mag, what did you like the most? Because I really can’t choose!
Book lust: Decorate
No need to tell you how much I want this book, I’m sure you want it just as much, right? Written by the fabulous Holly Becker (and Joanna Copestick), with photography by my all time favorite Debi Treloar, Decorate book is definitely a piece to look forward to! I literally cannot wait anymore to put my hands on a copy, I’m simply trying not to think of it now so I can hang on little longer. Here are some teaser pictures:
Be thankful for each other
Hello, loves! I was absent for the last few days, but I had a reason, reasons to be more precise. First I fought an awful stomach flu on Friday and Saturday. It felt really bad, can’t recall the last time when I was so miserable health-wise. And then when I finally thought I’m good and life will get back to normal, I got devastating news – my dear aunt, who was more than just a close relative, passed away in the early morning on Sunday. I cannot describe my anger that I lost such a great person, grief and frustration that I’m not able to attend her funeral. It’s beyond any words. I’m trying to move on, hopefully I’ll be able to get back to blogging soon. Thank you for reading this, there’s only one thing left to say:

Floral inspired decor
Hello, my dears! First of all I want to apologize for posting so late today, but don’t worry – anyway you’re in for a pretty treat :). With Spring in mind, the only thing I can think of are flowers, sun, flirty skirts and a bright color palette. So today my little blog is all about flowers and how you can inject them into your home (I must admit I’d love a room in my home all in florals, that feels so fresh and vibrant).
Mellow Yellow
I hope I didn’t whine too much about how much I want sun and warm weather, did I? Good, then one more post will not hurt either. Seriously I cannot wait anymore! A post dedicated to a shade of yellow which is fuzzy, soft, dreamy and truly feels like sun – it’s a mellow yellow inspired post! Not too smart, not too boring, just the perfect dose of pretty pictures that I’m sure you’ll all love (haven’t met ONE person in my life who doesn’t like yellow, have you?).
Home of a painter
What would you expect to see in a painter’s home? Of course paintings! Now imagine this: a painter living in Sweden who has a modern Scandinavian loft with plenty of stunning colorful artwork? I know, bliss! I couldn’t resist sharing this home with you all and I now once again proved to myself and all of you how big sucker I am for colors and Scandinavian flair and although I often find myself cheating on these two with French loveliness, rustic charm or vintage pieces – my heart will always skip a beat for Scandinavian style with a colorful twist.
Pia Jane Bijkerk interior styling
Hello, dears! For this Monday’s inspiration I chose to feature a super-talented interior stylist and photographer who travels (and lives) back and forth between Sydney, Paris and Amsterdam – Pia Jane Bijkerk! Her blog was a source of inspiration to me for a long time as her photography is beyond gorgeous and her style is what can be called rustic-meets-vintage-meets-French-meets-all-things-beautiful! Her work appeared in famous shelter magazines such as Elle Interior, Vogue Living, Home Beautiful, Traditional home and others. Recently Pia launched her professional website and I couldn’t help but blog about it. If you seek for a dose of prettiness to put you in a creative mood for this week, then enjoy this post!
