I know Chedva for such a short time, but it was so enough to understand how talented she is, always with fresh ideas, an impeccable vocabulary (so much to learn from her!) and a fabulous support she’s giving everyday to all the members of blogland! BFF her, you won’t regret! :). Therefore she is a perfect contributor to ‘blogger to blogger‘ series on creamylife! Please welcome Chedva, author of Belly’s Button blog!
“Hi everyone, and thank you, lovely Ludmila, for inviting me. I started Belly’s Button only a couple months ago, as a place to document my current inspiration, and it’s turned to be so much more. Here are some of my thoughts and tips regarding blogging:
-be yourself
There are so many other blogs (in any field, really) nowadays, that the only reason to discover new ones and add them to your daily reads is the personality or voice behind the blog. Be authentic, write about what you love. It may take time to figure out (I know it did for me) but this way you’ll come across as honest and you won’t tire from blogging.
-be the blog you want to read
Yes, I know, it sounds just the opposite from the previous tip. Trust me, it isn’t. Think about what you love in those blogs you read daily. Why do you feel a connection to them? This will help you edit yourself after writing according to the first tip, so you won’t cringe when you read your posts in a few months (side note: even if you will – so what? it’s better to learn and evolve than be perfect from the beginning, but stale).
-don’t be shy, learn!
Reading Ludmila’s blogger to blogger posts is a great start, and maybe that’s all you need. But if you feel you might want more, there are books and courses that can help you with that. I just completed Blogging Your Way, an e-course taught by Holly of Decor8 and Leslie of A Creative Mint, and I feel I’ve learned so much, and not just about blogging.
One bonus tip: have fun!
Thanks to blogging, I have met (virtually or in “real life”) so many amazing, talented and like-minded people, visit places I wouldn’t otherwise know existed and read books outside my comfort zone. These are the things that make blogging so fun and worthwhile, so go ahead- explore! enjoy! create! or as Dr. Seuss says Oh, the thinks you can think!
