It’s been a while since I saw a home this dreamy, filled with so much light, natural beauty and warm accessories! It’s no joke, this cottage might be my favorite home tour by far and the words “I would move there right away” do no justice to how amazed I really am by the inviting look of each room. The 19th century house is meant to look modern, however it still looks to me very vintage and its rustic feel adds even more charm to the entire thing. I’m in love and have no more to add.
Concrete & color
If you ask me, I will say that concrete walls combined with a fun color is the most unexpected way to decorate a space. I mean we all think of cold gray when speaking about concrete and it’s absolutely justified, so the fact of adding a bright shade to spice things up sounds like an easy, but ‘life-changing’ step in order to break the dullness of a room that has concrete walls, don’t you think? Whether you choose a warm pastel color to soften the look or a screaming bold one to put the focus on it, the result is anyway sure to be phenomenal!
Vintage kitchen
…with a touch of soft mint! I’m totally obsessed with the cabinet which is as vintage and as gorgeous as you can imagine! Add a few vintage stools and you get the perfect kitchen which is both inviting and cool. Open shelving, industrial old lighting – the moment when a picture is worth a thousand words :)
I’m loving the overall look of this kitchen – right up my alley!

Layered rugs – love it or hate it?
Yesterday while browsing some pins from around the world I came across a picture that had my attention for a few good minutes. Unfortunately I haven’t saved it, but believe me when I say it was a swoon-worthy living room and what caught my eye were the layered rugs on the floor. I loved it, because those mismatched rugs were such a perfect and unexpected detail to the room, adding some color, a patterned twist to the entire space making it feel warmer and cozier. At the same time I felt that as pretty as the look of patterned rugs might be, it’s also a bold move (at least it would be for me), so I thought I can ask you – do you love or hate the look of layered rugs?
Rustic romance
Every once in a while I like to escape (at least with my mind) to an absolutely different environment, daydreaming about spending time on a lavender field, in a beach cottage or rustic romantic home. I guess the idea of a soft sunlight making its way through the light curtains of a living room decorated in a rustic style feels too attractive for this city girl who can’t imagine her days without constantly running around :). I found the perfect inspiration for all of you who feel the same, so let’s just run away for a few minutes to a gorgeous rustic home where serenity and romance is all you’ll see.
Home vs Fashion
It’s so fascinating to see the thin line between fashion and interior design, isn’t it? As much as the two industries seem to be different, at the end of the day they go hand in hand from every perspective. Perhaps less when it comes to texture, but a lot when we’re speaking about color and I love seeing the similarity between fashion and home decor, even more putting them together and look closely at how colors blend, how a piece of art can look so good on a dress etc.
Color+inspiration: pink & neon yellow
I’m mesmerized by how well the combination of pink and neon yellow works both in home decor and fashion! I mean not that I’m surprised, fashion-wise this is a match made in heaven, but who knew that these two modern and so bright colors will perfectly blend in interior design? This post pretty much proved it to me a while back though – let’s just say it struck me harder today :). I’m in love with unexpected color combos and at this point neon yellow and pink is on top of my favorites. What’s your fave color combo at the moment?
The pumps are gorgeous too, but check how insanely good-looking is that Jonathan Adler serving bowl? Don’t think it can get any better. Or it can – neon yellow bed and a hot pink bedding? Pretty awesome:
I’m sold, now just to convince the husband about how cool would we be if we paint our room in pink and add punches of neon yellow :). I better forget about it.

Ferm living A/W ’12
Ferm living is a favorite company of mine since pretty much the first day I came across their pretty patterns. Their A/W collection is nothing short of gorgeous and I especially dig the baby section – beyond cute pillows and wallpaper designs are such happy pieces that it made me want to live in that catalogue :). Happy Monday!
