Do you want to see the chicest apartment/office space? Then you’re in for a treat, because I’m about to share with you one glamorous, sophisticated, a bit classy, all in all chic space that I simply got in love with and I literally gasped when I saw the first photo of it. Turns out the space belongs to Lee Kleinhelter, the founder of Pieces, take a look:
Into the dark
The trend of dark walls has been around for like ever and honestly I thought it will go away with the time. Yet it’s still everywhere and everyone seems to love it and can’t get enough of it. I get it though, we all need some drama every once in a while and such drastic change might be what one needs at some point in life, I mean how much can one swoon over bright colors or innocent pale shades without tiring of it? One year tops, if you ask me :)
Lovely palette: navy-white-green
It’s finally Friday, friends! But for me it’s more than that – it’s also Christmas eve today and Christmas celebration tomorrow. Yes, might look to you we’re like living on another Planet, but that’s how it is – our Christmas is in January (cool kids like me celebrate it on December 25th and January 7th, so all is well).
How did your 2012 start off? Have you put your resolutions on paper yet? I haven’t, but I have only two or three, so there’s not much need for me to do it.
On another note, the two images below kept popping out all day today so I just couldn’t ignore how refreshing the color palette is: navy, white and green – totally gorgeous, feels like a breath of fresh air.
Enjoy the weekend!

“I don’t buy clothes – I buy houses”
That’s what real estate agent Juliette Hohnen says and let me tell you she’s quite good at it. For instance let’s take a look at her last nest – that space feels so fresh, uncluttered and airy, so I have enough reasons to think the woman knows her business. The only difference is that she made this side of her business so home-y and whimsical which I admire her for. Take a look:
2012
It’s the first post in 2012 so let me welcome you all to a new year which will surely bring many adventures, joyful moments and achieved goals. I like to think about a new year as a blank canvas, with plenty of space to paint your life the way you want it. Which is why today I especially feel drawn to clean lines, uncluttered spaces and white interiors – exactly what we need now – new beginnings with nothing to interfere with our life mission and vision.
Happy 2012, sweets! Make it memorable!
Dream bedroom
Being that my design style, aesthetics is an ever-changing thing I never thought I’d say that, but I found my dream bedroom. It has the color of a pale pink rose, a gorgeous comfy bed, a cozy cowhide rug, the most feminine settee I’ve ever seen, a Vogue poster and of course it has fresh flowers in pretty vases. How could a girl not like all this? Not sure my husband would be as excited as I am, but still – I’d love to have Crystal’s bedroom (that girl is a huge talent when it comes to decorating, don’t you think? Her home as seen in the anniversary issue of Rue looks amazing!):
Color report: Tangerine Tango
You probably all heard that Pantone named the color of 2012 Tangerine Tango. Just like its last year’s sister – honeysuckle – tangerine is a rich, bright hue which leaves a big impact on a room if used right. Accessories, a wall, a rug or a sofa will bring a cheery vibe into your home, tangerine will simply make your space warmer, happier, more modern and home-y. Of course, tangerine will be equally often used in fashion industry (I think the trend was clearly seen already in 2011, right?). Lipstick, nail polish, silky dresses – all tangerine colored will definitely make for a bright year!
Bring a tree indoors
So you can totally spice up the room you think needs to be freshened up a bit. Insane? Oh yes. Unique? Heck yes! There’s just one picture I’m sharing with you, but it so left me speechless, so I had to. Imagine the decorating possibilities if you would actually have a tree in your dining room! Not to mention how thrilled your kids would be about their possibilities. All in all, it’s a win-win situation, you know what I mean? Ok, so maybe the idea is too crazy to be brought to life, but just imagine…

Decorate for a Scandinavian Christmas
Since last year I also posted about a Scandinavian Christmas I thought I would make of it a tradition and bring a bit of Scandinavian in your life every year. This year is a bunch of pictures to inspire you to have your own Scandinavian inspired Christmas, no matter where you are. I know I’d LOVE this year the Scandinavian Christmas tree, which is so much different than trees you can see in the States or Europe: with few decorations, with twinkle lights, in a bucket – these are the main details a Scandinavian Christmas tree shows off. Oh and don’t forget about the (faux) fur – it’s quite an important part of a Scandi inspired home decor (and not only for Christmas), right?
Wallpaper madness
Have you ever wondered what would be like to go bold regarding wallpapers in your home? And I mean like real bold: pattern madness, hypnotizing mixes, perhaps exaggerated amount of it? I doubt I’d be able to be so brave as of having a room which makes it hard for your eyes to stay opened (nor would I want to, if we’re at it), but I do admire people who have the guts to apply wallpapers on all four walls plus the ceiling (crazy, right?). Or people who are obsessed with stripes and so there are many stripes around their homes.
Would you or would you not go bold with your wallpaper choice?
