Home tour: Graphic designer Cristina Re

Cristina Re is a Melbourne-based graphic designer (aka “stationery guru” just like Adore Home magazine said) living in a delightful, colourful home that she designed all by herself. Cristina’s place has a Spanish flair, with an European feeling to it, many patterns, but most of all the feeling of a home, a very inspiring one if I say so myself! When I saw her home, one word came to mind (one of the few words in Spanish I know) and that is caliente (hot)! A home with bits of passion? Sign me up for it!

Color+Inspiration: Aqua+Red

What’s with this combo, I get to see plenty of it and it’s literally everywhere – in the kitchen, in the patio, in the living room and at parties! Well, I can totally understand the trend, bright and fresh aqua looks fabulous with hot, daring red – it’s like something you’d never put together yet which looks fantastic when combined. You know what I mean, right?

Pinteresting post

Have I ever mentioned how addicted I am to Pinterest? If not, this post will say it all. I’m browsing over there for hours and hours every day and still can’t get enough of all that inspiration, stunning pictures I’d never come across otherwise and all the inspiring pinners – it’s always nice to see what fellow bloggers and friends like in real life (again, things I’d never find out if it wouldn’t be for Pinterest). The best of it is that it doesn’t  matter what style you think suits you better – you can pin everything and create a VERY inspiring artful mess. Yes, it’s that good. I’m happy to be on Pinterest from the very beginning, seriously, these days I can’t imagine my life without it. You must try it, if you didn’t (which is highly unlikely). I have pinboards for fashion, interiors, food and much more – it’s unbelievable how much I cherish my pinteresting place :)

Office spaces to inspire

We all know that for a productive day we need an office which is both cozy and motivating. And yes, I truly believe an office is like a bed – crucial for one’s life, I mean how cranky can you be when your bed sucks, right? So since I don’t really have a comfy-inspiring office, I decided to browse around the web and indulge myself with pretty pictures – hopefully that will make me do something to improve my own situation. Ok, enough chit-chat, here are some office spaces that have me drooling big time.

Turner Pocock Cazalet wallpaper collection

I’d like to introduce you now to a company based in UK that last year launched its own wallpaper collection and I’m digging pretty much everything they have there – Turner Pocock Cazalet! I was contacted by them as they kindly offered me to take a look at their line and well, I was pleasantly surprised to see such names as Tennis, Cricket (sports section) as well as Zebra, Ostrich, Ibis – I mean who wouldn’t love a stylish zebra wallpaper, right?

Home with a ‘wow factor’

Ok, I know I wished you all a happy weekend and I’m supposed to give you a break these two days, but I just came across a home that is TOO awesome not to be posted. I nearly fell off my chair, seriously – it’s ah.mazing! I love every inch of it, every colour and every single detail of the interior. Take a look:

Porcelain dog

I’m very much in love with them lately. You saw porcelain dog statues before and so did I, but just now I felt the urge to own one and it’s all because of their sophisticated and royal-like look! An image in the latest Lonny Magazine (which is absolutely fantastic, by the way!) shows exactly what I mean.

Not that the rest of the picture doesn’t deserve applause, however the dog is an absolute favourite piece making the room feel even more elegant and chic, right?

Statement headboards

Every once in a while I come across some decor pieces that are insanely gorgeous yet inspiring all at once and I just can’t ignore them as they’re too good not to be posted. You know what I mean, right? That’s what happened when I saw this article in an magazine. I’ve seen some headboards that were just huge (and when I say huge I mean the impact on the bedroom). Those headboards are definitely focal points and no bedroom would look boring with one of them. Take a look:

Ampersand trend

Ampersand sign – I bet you’ve seen it everywhere the past months (or years?). Well, I’m no exception, I fell in love with its look right away. However, I do have a favourite design and although I love them all, that particular ampersand is on the top of my faves. The huge variety of ampersands makes it difficult to decide on one piece that we would bring into our home: giant sized or tiny ones? Wooden or metal? Colourful or shabby chic? Oh, dilemmas. What do you like the most?

Danish home: Colour land

Can you believe that the weather these days is just awful? Raining, windy, dull and gray – hello, it’s May outside! Frankly, I refuse to believe that a May day can exist without warm sun and gentle breeze, that’s why I’m feeling like Spring is yet to come. And to hurry things up I’m treating myself and all of you with a gorgeous home tour located in Denmark were colours rock big time. Such hues as turquoise, bright red and hot pink prevail throughout the home and that, my friends, is the perfect pill for depressive days like we have at the moment :). I really hope you have more luck with the weather and you can actually feel it’s Spring. Send some sun my way, please!
