It’s Friday, people! This means that a happy dance is in order right now! TGIF! For a pretty day I have the portfolio of a star for all. And I’m totally serious when saying star, she’s a design star and she’s the winner of HGTV‘s show. Ladies and gents, it’s Emily Henderson I’m speaking about! I loved her aesthetics ever since I first saw one of her designs and now I’m finally sharing with all my love for Emily Henderson! I’m sure there’s no much need to explain why do I adore Emily or how did it happen – it just did and watch out, it will happen to you after you check some of the designs from her portfolio:
Home Tour: Nicole Cohen of Sketch42
Rue Magazine issue three went live yesterday and I cannot begin to describe how fabulous it is! Seriously, it was almost surreal to see SO much inspiration in one place, at one time. I perused the issue a few times last night and was nearly not breathing with every single turned page. I adore it, the issue is pure fabulousness and I highly recommend it, you’ll find there everything your heart might desire: fashion, interiors and home tours, shops, mood boards and many behind the scenes pictures and videos! And of course there was one home tour I just couldn’t ignore and that is the home of my fellow blogger Nicole Cohen, author of Sketch42 blog! Her home is to die for! Combining classic, eclectic and modern styles, Nicole’s nest is dreamy! Enough talking, here’s a glimpse at Nicole‘s home (find more in Rue):
Oversized mirrors
I’ve been planning to write a post about oversized mirrors for quite some time and it’s finally happening! I find myself flipping more and more through online ‘pages’ (read sites), pictures, staring at some gorgeousness to die for! I’m smitten by the impact an oversized mirror has on a room, they bring elegance and grandeur to a space! Not to mention that a mirror like that can easily be the focal point in a room, that’s why choose carefully – you don’t want to create misleading impressions about your style, right? I for one would choose an option from too: shabby chic, worn off and washed out OR a golden Victorian beauty to greet me every time I come home.
What would you choose? And would you actually bring an oversized mirror inside your home?
Chesterfield love
Before I had crush on chairs. Not that I stopped, but now I’m seeing things wider, bigger – that’s why I have a crush on a sofa, but not JUST a sofa, it’s a Chesterfield sofa, so elegant and glam all at once! And while I’ve never been a big fan of leather couches, I’ll totally take a velvet Chesterfield, which feels royally stunning! I’ve gathered a few inspirational images and while you scroll and scroll to see them, think about how do you feel when seeing this couch – you know that your opinion has always meant a lot to me!
Bedrooms to-die-for
Outside is pretty ugly today, still I need to get out and head to my work, but oh, how much I’d love to stay in, cozied up in one of the below bedrooms, with many pillows, blankets and my lap top, of course. Sigh, a girl can dream, no? TGIF though and soon I’ll be able to do just that, so I’m really looking forward to the weekend. How’s the weather where you are? Are you enjoying winter or waiting anxiously for spring (like I am)? Anyway, here are some pictures to keep us warm and comfy at least by looking at them (and I so want to stay in bed today!).
Color+Inspiration: Pastels
Running my street style photo blog for a few months now allowed me see some tendencies, color choices which are often used and some trends. And yes, we’re speaking about fashion when mentioning my site, but I figured that the same (or at least similar) principles apply to interior design, no? If to recall photography that caught my attention, made me gasp, left me uber inspired – yes, we’re speaking about pastel colors brought indoors, emanating soothing vibes, relaxing and tempting us. Here are some pictures for a color+inspiration post:
French Flair
A little of a laid-down post today. I’m still obsessing over everything French, dreaming about rich textures, soothing colors, crystal chandeliers and bits of glamor, lots of it! A girl can dream, right? These beautiful interiors are feast for my eyes and I hope they will be for yours too. And tell me, aren’t the pastels colors and that delicious gray just breathtaking? Pretty gorgeous neutral shades.
Nate Berkus – interior design maven
Will you be shocked if I say that I love Nate Berkus? No, you won’t and I’m pretty sure you’ll think ‘oh well, welcome to the club’. And I’ll happily step into the huge group of Nate Berkus‘ admirers. His great eye for beautiful things is above everything I could ever imagine. He’s amazing, a true interior design maven. With a TV show where he’s the boss and multiple shelter magazine features, Nate Berkus is certainly the God of all things interior design and if you seek for inspiration, his portfolio is the perfect place to pop by! Convince yourself.
Shabby and chic
I’ve heard many opinions about shabby chic style, some say its era is over, some call it (excuse this expression) shabby sh*t, others like it only if it’s not in their own homes. I’m in none of these categories. I love this style and for me it will probably last forever. I like it because it’s dreamy and flirty (yet doesn’t feel girly at all!), it’s all about pretty roses, ruffles, white color (washed out, that is), lots of wood and an overall very cozy feeling! Oh yes, and stunning crystal chandeliers, which will blow your mind away! So describing it this way, what’s not to love here? Say whatever you want, on creamylife shabby chic gets a huge yay! :)
