Jacinta Preston Design

Ok, so I’ll admit, I’ve heard about this Sydney-based interior designer very few times, so I wasn’t really aware of what I’m missing. That’s why I was happy to stumble upon her site today and dive into all that inspiration and just abundance of creativity. Jacinta Preston is my hero. She’s mixing old and new, vintage and high end, muted and bright colors and she’s a dream come true. I was fascinated by her talented eye and fresh approach to either kids’ rooms, living areas or bedrooms. Jacinta Preston creates interiors which are perfectly livable yet nailed to perfection and almost untouchably chic. My first thought when seeing her portfolio was: ‘this lady definitely knows how to do thrift-shopping’ :). Here are some Jacinta Preston designs:

Classic Glamor

Happy Friday, sunshines! Sunny day outside and I’m feeling so lazy today, although I know I’m not allowed :). Ok, first thing first: thank you all so much for the sweetest words of encouragement in my new venture! Yesterday, the entire day I could feel the huge love from my Twitter and Facebook friends, from readers who sent me congratulations by email – don’t ever forget that this means SO MUCH to me and it gives me strength and energy to achieve more and be better every day! THANK YOU!

On another note, I’ve been lately noticing changes in my aesthetic and style interior-wise, you know? If some months ago I was completely enchanted by country, cozy homes with a rustic peaceful atmosphere, then later in time I was blown away by splashes of color in interiors, with patterns galore and an overall modern ambiance – well, guess what: now this has changed as well! For the past few weeks I’ve been more and more attracted by classic and glamorous interiors with high ceilings, rich texture, tufted furniture, crystal chandeliers and timeless colors such as black, brown, beige, golden – pretty chic, right?!

Stone walls – yay or nay?

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday to all! Once again I want to apologize for being away yesterday all day, you haven’t received any updates from me on Twitter and Facebook, but I’m back today, with your daily slice of inspiration on Facebook and lots of creative tweets, so come join me!

In other news: you know, I’ve been thinking lately about stone walls in a room, trying to figure out how do I feel about them: is this a modern look, which is about someone’s personal style or is it only a cold detail, which, as I think, doesn’t bring any coziness to a room? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen lots of homes with stone walls (or at least a portion of the wall covered with stones) and I do think that if the owner feels comfortable with them, it’s fantastic. However, I wouldn’t go with stone walls in my own home, I’ll not stand their unfinished look and am sure will never feel entirely warm in that home.

So, I’m asking for your opinion now: yay or nay? Give your votes!

Home Tour: Eclectic and charming

I spotted this home in casaviva Serbia, a design mag which is as inspiring as you can imagine! The home belongs to Branko Klanscek, who’s living in Belgrade and whose home was once the atelier of famous Serbian painters: Ljubisa Naumovic, Pedja Milosavljevic and Marko Krsmanovic (I know none of them and I’m embarrassed). He restored everything, keeping that artsy feeling though, so today Branko’s home is an eclectic place, with ethnic touches, traditional warm wood and high-end pieces. However altogether it does feel home-y and livable.

Interior designer Mary McDonald

The name Mary McDonald wasn’t new to me, however the portfolio of this fabulous interior designer was a real find this morning! Mary McDonald is a young LA-based designer known in the industry as a person whose style is “old-fashioned elegance with a modern sensibility resulting in a fearless, joyful exuberance”. She was named as one of the Top 100 Designers by House Beautiful and her aesthetic shows a livable harmony of colors, serenity and touch of glamor here and there. Mary’s input to a room she designs is like no other, so each space has its own atmosphere and charm, whether it’s a traditional or contemporary style.

Vicente Wolf

You know that I’m more of a color girl, loving everything bright and light, right? However, I have my days when I’m lusting over earthy, natural colored interiors, which emanate warmth and a muted charm. Today is one of those days, so the portfolio of ultra-popular designer Vicente Wolf was a perfect find! I’m sure you know everything about VW, plenty of blog posts dedicated to his work in our blogland, but I needed to add my two cents as he’s truly amazing, his portfolio is delightful, eye candy for us all! The interiors I chose for this post have a rustic feeling to them and they’re making me dream about cozy blankets, books and cups of tea! By the way, in Rue magazine you’ll find an article about an average day of Vicente Wolf, so check it out, it’s very captivating to see what is he up to in his day-to-day life.

Elle Dekor fall issue

Happy Friday all! Elle Dekor Serbia, fall issue, is finally on newsstands (they kept us excited for way too long time!), but it’s now available for all and oh the expectation was so worth it! We got to see a blissful cover, designed in the colors of fall, bringing peaceful feelings to it. The inside part didn’t disappoint either! We saw stunning folklore-inspired pictures, with patterned layers and cozy colors! Seems like rich hues are what rock interior design scenes this season. We were introduced to its majesty, wood, which also seems like settled down for a while, emanating warmth and natural beauty all over! We were invited to the home of painter Bojana Ban, architect Slavica Trajkovic, Lea Aviani and more. Oh and by the way my friend Marija‘s Jimi chair is also in Elle Dekor! How cool is that? Congratulations to her! Here are some pictures, so you can see what I’m talking about!

Sneak peek of Belgrade apartments

Happy Friday everyone! Hope your week went smoothly and that you’re ready for a R&R time (congratulations to my readers from Canada and USA for having an extra day off!). This week Elle Dekor Serbia (man, how I adore this magazine!) gave us a roundup of Belgrade apartments featured in the magazine at some point. A small confession: I put my hands on Elle Dekor not so long time ago, so that being said – I missed some issues from before. That is the reason I was very thrilled to see the mentioned pictures; seeing that there are talented and stylish people here wasn’t a surprise, but seeing the proof of the fact was something exciting! So I’d like to share with you now some pictures, so you can have an idea of how are apartments in Belgrade decorated (of course interiors vary due to owners’ styles and preferences, but still):

Jeff Andrews Design

You guys won’t believe what I just spotted! A REAL TREASURE! Seriously, the portfolio of interior designer Jeff Andrews is perfection and all the rooms he worked his magic on are to die for, if I say so myself! His fine aesthetic and modern concepts are creating spaces far above my ideas of a livable ambiance! When I grow up, I want to be like Jeff Andrews, but alas, talented artists like him isn’t something we see everyday. I’d just love to have him decorating my home, his famous name is trust-worthy and that has been proven by the numerous publications his work appeared in.

Note to self: Jeff Andrews designed Khloe Kardashian’s office, so he’s REALLY out of your price range! Who cares, a girl can dream, right? :)
